Today, Dunn Energy Cooperative provides electricity and energy services to over 9,500 accounts on nearly 2,000 miles of electric distribution lines. Their mission is to provide energy and service of the highest quality at the lowest practical cost to improve the quality of life of their members and community.

Dunn Energy recently deployed “Smart Grid Technology” utilizing fiber optic connections provided by 24-7 & West Wisconsin Telcom. Smart Grid Technology analyzes data on electric use patterns, time of day usage and power quality that allows Dunn Energy to implement new technology that will help their members use energy more wisely. This new technology will also be used during power outages to help restore power as quickly as possible.

GIG Certified

Arlington, Va., (August 27th, 2015) – NTCA–The Rural Broadband Association, the premier association representing nearly 900 independent, community-based telecommunications companies that are leading innovation in rural and small-town America, today announced that West Wisconsin Telcom Cooperative has been named a Certified Gig-Capable Provider for delivering gigabit broadband speeds and enabling technological innovation in the Elk Lake, Rock Falls, Downsville, Eau Galle and Spring Lake exchange communities.

GIG-Certified-SealAs a Certified Gig-Capable Provider, West Wisconsin Telcom Cooperative joins a national campaign spearheaded by NTCA to build awareness and industry recognition of community-based telecom providers that have built communications networks capable of delivering Internet speeds of up to 1 gigabit per second, which is 100 times faster than those currently available in many U.S. households. West Wisconsin Telcom Cooperative also received tools to promote itself as a Gig-Capable Provider in the Elk Lake, Rock Falls, Downsville, Eau Galle and Spring Lake exchange communities and will be recognized in NTCA media, on the NTCA website, and during association conferences and events.
