Dunn Energy Cooperative was established nearly 80 years ago to bring electricity to rural families, farms, and businesses in Dunn County and surrounding areas. Today, Dunn Energy Cooperative provides electricity and energy services to over 9,500 accounts on nearly 2,000 miles of electric distribution lines. Their mission is to provide energy and service of the highest quality at the lowest practical cost to improve the quality of life of their members and community.
Dunn Energy recently deployed “Smart Grid Technology” utilizing fiber optic connections provided by 24-7 & West Wisconsin Telcom. Smart Grid Technology analyzes data on electric use patterns, time of day usage and power quality that allows Dunn Energy to implement new technology that will help their members use energy more wisely. This new technology will also be used during power outages to help restore power as quickly as possible.
