WHAT TO EXPECT
Our crews are working in your area to install fiber-optic underground. We’re working as quickly and safely as possible to minimize any inconvenience and get you connected as soon as possible. Learn More about each stage of the install and what you can expect.
Part of building a network includes burying fiber from our network to your home. Don’t worry–once we’re done, your property will be returned to its original state.
We need to schedule a walkthrough to answer your questions and plan the best place to bury fiber for getting your home connected.
Fiber-optic cables are composed of millions of tiny, hair-like strands of glass and plastic, all bundled together. These little strands transmit using pulses of light. Light is ridiculously faster than electricity at doing this, making fiber internet lightyears faster than cable or DSL.
FTTP: Fiber-to-the-Premise, also called to-the-Home (FTTH), Business (FFTB), is the closest thing to a “pure” fiber network possible. The fiber-optic cable goes all the way to your home, business, etc.
True pure fiber-optic internet is only available to about 17.7% of Wisconsinites with speeds up to 1 Gig. It’s uncommon for providers to talk about symmetrical or fast upload and download speeds, but we can. Fiber is future-proof; nothing is faster than the speed of light.
