Q: What do I do if I can't connect to the Internet?
A: You can check your Internet connection settings, here's what to do:

Click here if you use Windows 95/98 or ME.
If you have Windows XP:
1. Select Start, then click "Connect To" and then click "Show All Connections".


2. Right-click on the West Wisconsin dialup networking connection. Left-click on Properties.


3. The phone number should be your local dial-up access number; if you're unsure if it's correct, please call Technical Support.


4. Click the "Networking" tab.
5. Click once on "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)". Click on "Properties".


6. Be sure the 'Obtain an IP..." and 'Obtain DNS...' are as shown below.


7. Click OK.
8. Click OK again.


If you use Windows 95/98 or ME:
1. Double-Click "My Computer".


2. Double-Click "Dial-up Networking".


3. Right-Click on "West Wis. Telcom", "wwt.net", or "My Connection". Left-Click on Properties.


4. The phone number should be your local dial-up access number; if you're unsure if it's correct, please call Technical Support.
5. If there is an Area code is in the Area code field, then uncheck "Use Area Code and Dialing Properties" or "Use Country Code and Area Code in Dialing Properties".


6. Click on the "Server Types" or "Networking" Tab.
7. Under "Advanced Options" - Make sure that "Enable Software Compression" is the only one checked.
8. Under "Allowed Network Protocols" - Make sure "TCP/IP" is the only one checked.
9. Click once on the "TCP/IP Settings" button in the lower right.


10. Be sure the DNS is set to automatic.


11. Click "Ok".
12. Click "OK" again.
